Adam Mastrobuono Earns Student-Athlete Academic Award at ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app

Adam Mastrobuono of Oviedo, Florida, is the recipient of Valdosta State University’s 2023-2024 Division of Athletics Student-Athlete Academic Award. He is pictured with Dr. Richard A. VALDOSTA — Adam Mastrobuono of Oviedo, Florida, is the recipient of Valdosta State University’s 2023-2024 Division of Athletics Student-Athlete Academic Award.

Mastrobuono was recognized during ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app’s annual Academic Honors and Awards Dinner on April 25.

The Division of Athletics Student-Athlete Academic Award is presented to a junior, senior, or graduate student-athlete with the highest grade point average. Ties are not broken.

Mastrobuono runs for Men’s Cross Country at ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app. He said this award is important because it recognizes “the hard work I put in the classroom and on the course.”

Mastrobuono graduated from ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Health and Physical Education (Grades PreK-12) in 2023. He anticipates completing a Master of Education in Health and Physical Education in December.

Highlights of Mastrobuono’s time as a student at ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app include the following:

- His very last race at the University of North Florida, where he competed in the 800 meter.

- Earning the character award.

- Receiving two senior recognitions at a ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app football game.

- Watching the United States Olympic Team Trials Marathon in Orlando, Florida.

- Visiting Providence Canyon State Park in Lumpkin, Georgia.    

His supportive family includes parents Colleen and Richard Mastrobuono, sister Alex Silva, and brother Jacob Mastrobuono.
